Pros
It's a little surprising to see some of the cons others have listed. I've been an employee here for over a decade and I love it. I have searched for other jobs but none compare. The lab absolutely cares for its employees, going as far as providing full healthcare coverage at no cost to us and multiple "employee appreciation" events per year. If you are motivated to climb the corporate ladder the lab will support you any way that it can. I have seen zero bullying as well. Sure there are groups of people that get along with each other better, but in no way has there been animosity between them. Any negative behavior is addressed immediately and is always dealt with in a civil manner. The lab does not fire people on a whim either and will go out of its way to find a position that works for you, even if it means bouncing you around a few times and taking extra effort to ensure proper training. The employees here are some of my favorite people, you'll find something in common with everyone and start making friends on the first day. If you have a good work ethic and a positive attitude you will do just fine. I would strongly recommend working here if laboratory work is your thing.
Cons
The obvious con is working with bodily fluids, but the novelty wears off quickly. The workload can tend to fluctuate, as it follows the sports seasons throughout the year. Summers are generally very busy and management keeps a tighter leash on PTO. So if you have annual summer vacations this might affect them. Winters on the other hand can be slow, to the point that you can find yourself at a loss for things to do to stay busy.
