Pros

Remote Nice people Meh on pay - salary only for some with no bonus or commission Decent benefits Lots of opportunities for new to the workforce hires

Cons

MICROMANAGEMENT at its best! Terrible onboarding and training - as a tenured professional, mandated training was on how to use Outlook Lack of position training - as an external hire navigating the internal landscape was very difficult without even the minimal direction from management or the team PTO and Holidays - an elective day is either the day after Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve - who works those days ever??? And, if you are hired throughout the calendar year your PTO is pro-rated, so you actually start with less than you would starting Jan. 1 Shared Calendars - management requires remote employees to share calendars with full details - if you can't trust your employees then you shouldn't have hired them in the first place Nepotism - the majority of the new hires have relatives who are in senior leadership

Pros

This may be a good place to start in order to gain experience in the industry at the entry level. Beyond that it should be a stepping stone.

Cons

The Glassdoor numbers say a lot. Only 50% of the people who work here would recommend to a friend or colleague. In school, 70% is 1% away from failure. SHI is 20% below failure. To add, 53% of the people who work here have a negative outlook on the company's future. That seems like a trend in the wrong direction. If your career is an investment in your life, that needs to be considered before investing a career into SHI.
