Pros

Good benefits decent salary members are usually great to work with.

Cons

Management has no idea what they’re doing and it’s difficult to build actual worker power here because it’s a complete business union.

Pros

The union has a strong organizing culture and puts members at the front of everything that it does. It's an excellent place to work if you want to be a part of improving the lives of working people.

Cons

There can sometimes be long and irregular hours inherent in the work, especially in the run up to a major organizing or contract campaign.

Pros

Valuable experience, a stepping stone to literally ANY other union, staffers have a strong union backed by CWA, good if you don’t have experience or a degree. Fully funded healthcare, decent compensation & pension after 3 years. The benefits are what keep people.

Cons

Long, irregular hours with little balance, constant political work (doorknocking on weekends whenever management decides to make everyone work a Saturday), horrible office culture, micromanagement as company culture, President who does NOT trust OR value her staff (“if you don’t like it, leave” is her motto). Absolutely insane expectations for turf- organizers are routinely assigned FAR more than 900 members.
