Pros
I worked at TB (now Rocket Money) for almost 4 years. There are a few genuinely great people at TB that I really enjoyed working with. Unfortunately, those people were few and far between.
Cons
I had 4 different supervisors during my time at TB, none of whom were competent in my area of expertise. I was running my department with sole responsibility for the entire duration of my time at TB, but I was never recognized or compensated fairly for the work that I did. I had to practically beg for raises over time, and still never came close to market for the role I was acting in. The appropriate title and comp was constantly dangled in front of me -- "If you just did xyz you could have it" was said so many times, no matter how much I accomplished or executed on. Also, my past experience at other companies never mattered, only what I did at TB. So even though I had 6 years of experience in my field when I joined TB, they acted like I had 0, and I was always behind. I hate to think about how much time I wasted and how much money I left on the table by staying for so long. Furthermore, I had two psychologically and emotionally abusive bosses. I developed severe work-related anxiety and PTSD that required me to start medication and therapy, which I still have to do today, despite having moved on from TB. I'm not the only one either--I've spoken to people who have left, and we all have similar stories. There is a huge lack of transparency from upper leadership, which became especially clear when they announced the company's acquisition just a couple of days before Christmas 2021. It was a rocky transition at best, with no clear communication or direction. Today, TB (now Rocket Money) is just a small piece of the Rocket Enterprise ecosystem. I hope that having a parent company with rules and regulations will somehow change TB's trajectory for the better now that they are actually accountable to someone. The "spark" that made TB special in the early days is gone. The culture has done a 180, and has become much more corporate since the acquisition. They are trying to combat this and maintain some form of individuality, but it is surface level at best. If you want to be a tiny cog in the giant wheel of Rocket, and suffer under poor management, this is the perfect place for you. They will welcome you to the "family," but be wary, it is not one you want to be a part of.
