Pros
I worked with Roar Global through two years from 2017 to end of 2018. It was a fantastic opportunity to partner with the founder Mustafa Kassim to launch Indian operations of this new media company from Sri Lanka. I find Mustafa to be wise beyond his years and enjoyed his honest and straightforward approach. He is also fair in his approach towards evaluation of his own work and that of the team's. Through my time, I also worked with other members who are equally responsible and keen to do path breaking work. While I worked in India for the company, I would visit their office in Colombo and always loved the vibe. It is like the place to be in Colombo, where the best minds and ideas come together. A place where narrating great stories takes precedence over everything else. It is a bit like working at BuzzFeed if I have to draw a parallel. Given a choice, I would continue to be a part of the Roar Global team. But life had other plans and I had to move on.
Cons
The only downside is that Roar is a young team with a young founder. So things move fast, and the thought and stability that comes with experience can be missing at times. I am hoping that with time they have taken care of this as well.
