Pros

Your coworkers are the best people you will ever meet, willing to help you with any issue and walk you through things over the phone when you don't understand. The working atmosphere is generally upbeat.

Cons

Employees are not utilized correctly, haveing large client base has led to clients that have particular needs and become dependent on a single technician, well some would see this as a good thing it ends up getting in the way when the only person with the expertise needed is tied up at a client site for 3 days a week. Employees also do not recive proper recognition of skills in things that do not relate to either a Microsoft certification (to benifit their partnership level) or a Cisco cert (that does not apply to 99% of the clientele) is cast aside.

The management of River Run Computers takes great pride in servicing our clients with a well trained staff. While partnership levels are important to maintain levels of service with our manufacturers, the key to all our partnerships is working with vendors and manufacturers that bring benefit to our broad client base. While we strive to give our staff exposure to a wide variety of clients/technologies, logistically we cannot do this for all staff all the time. We continue to work for win/win/win scenarios – good for our clients, good for our staff and good for River Run. It is unfortunate that this individual did not express some concerns prior to departing or during the exit interview process to allow us the opportunity to make the working experience a more challenging career. We stress team interaction between the field technicians and our support desk technicians to avoid the “one tech” dependency. The fact that our clients do depend so heavily on River Run engineers supports that we are sending the right people with the right skill set.

Pros

Most staff are friendly and respectful to each other.

Cons

Pays techs below market rates and promises promotions/raises that never happen while sales gets nice big bonuses and commissions. Below average benefits. Very disorganized. Unclear training, processes, documentation, promotion paths, responsibilities, expectations and more. Technology is not the focus of River Run, just selling as much as possible as fast as possible in any way possible. Most techs struggle day to day because there is so little structure and we are left to just figure it out. Things fall through the cracks daily. Leadership has bare minimum knoweldge of the technology they sell and doesn't listen to recommendations. Future of company is unclear and bad.
