Garbage company - Security Guard Risk Protection Group Employee Review

Pay is okay if this is your first job ever

Management is horrible, they do not care for guard safety considering they will give multiple sites with no time in between for sleeping, eating, showering, etc. You will be constantly audio recorded without consent whenever you speak to any manager in person at their office making it extremely uncomfortable albeit legal. This of course creates a noticeable change in decorum in management when speaking to you in the office vs. during certain phone calls that likely aren't recorded. The pay is done by cheque and mailed to you so if you have bills to pay you better hope they don't forget to send it, which has happened. Also be ready to pay $150 for annual "use of force" training if you are in the "tactical division". On the topic of paying for training to do your job, the total uniform cost is $200-$500 depending on if you receive a vest and it will be gradually deducted from your bi-weekly pay cheques. Also if you get lucky enough to work "VIP" sites (ie. bowling alleys or restaurants) you will be expected to buy a full suit on your own time and pay out of your own pocket. You will also be expected to drive all over the GTA to reach sites for a few dollars above minimum wage which defeats the purpose of the work considering vehicle depreciation and gasoline cost. In my short time there I have seen about 7 people leave, which is over half of the guards I made contact with over the course of my employment.

Nothing. Only Pro is that you may be fortunate enough to get a shift that not overnight and if your lucky enough a shift that is even indoors.

Dispatch is very rude and disrespectful. They will intentionally cut your hours without your consent. No proper/formal scheduling everything is on call. No direct deposit a cheque is mailed to your door so there is 100% chance that they will take money out of your paycheck in a way you wont notice. Pay is horrible with no benefits. The owner is no good he is a dishonest liar who overreacts and is to paranoid and agitated to run a security company. Canada is one of the most safest and crime free countries in the world there is no need to over react and be so hysterical and act like you are on duty in a warzone. Honesty save yourself and don't risk it, This company is complete garbage! Protect your self from the Risk of working at such a terrible company!!! You are better off cleaning toilets trust me!
