Pros
All levels of experience are valued and there are many opportunities for growth in projects and leadership in the firm. Upper management is accessible, transparent, encouraging, and open to new ideas. They are supportive of women in the workplace, and actively engage in and try to find actionable solutions to advance social and racial equity.
Cons
Probably the biggest thing that comes up for people is the location. Being in Bremerton can be a turn off for people if their desire is to be in the city. I have to say, though, being outside the city is very manageable and I’ve found it to be much lower stress than previous jobs based out of major cities while still being very rewarding and satisfying work. There also is not a specifically focused effort to achieve higher sustainability goals within the office, although many in the office do value sustainability in architecture. As evidenced in the company office which was a highly sustainable project renovating an existing building. I think there is ample opportunity to make sustainability a more focused goal in the office.
