Pros

You will be tested to your breaking point - some people thrive in that environment.

Cons

They don't seem to understand the difference between a lack of process and being agile. There's limited understanding that being agile sometimes means being a little late on deadlines. They expect all of their engineers to be rockstars. That's fine for a little while, if the pay is good enough, but it doesn't scale - especially if the pay is not good enough. They don't seem to care about diversity in any meaningful way. Don't get me wrong, they're happy to just accept anyone at their merits. I never got the sense that they wouldn't give everyone the same fair chance, but I never got the sense that they cared about ensuring that their team was not homogenous. It felt like they would prefer an echo chamber over even the mildest dissenting voices.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to provide it, even if it isn't always what we want to hear. Feedback helps us innovate and improve, which we are committed to doing. Finding the balance in a start-up between the innovation and excitement that comes with trying to do something that has not been done before and creating structure to thrive in the ambiguity is a constant opportunity that we will continue to challenge ourselves to get better and better at. We are excited to say that we have made some big strides in our agile methodology and approach as of late and are seeing some awesome momentum. Thanks again!

Pros

Flexible schedule with the ability to manage your own day. Strong onboarding and training. They let you learn at your own pace. Ongoing support and mentorship make a big difference, along with consistent encouragement from management. There are real growth opportunities—. I was able to see progress within my first year. The yearly onsite is also a great way to connect with everyone.

Cons

Since my role is fully remote, interaction can be limited at times. That said, it can be a plus if you prefer to stay focused. There can also be some shifts in your book of business as team members come and go, so you need to be adaptable.

Pros

You will know what type of people to avoid at work and what types of people are wonderful to work with. This distinction will change your perspective and train you for a better future.

Cons

The people at the top have made many massive mistakes. They have hired awfully arrogant and fake people in positions of power. As a result, junior employees feel ridiculously burdened. Those incompetent people are misusing their power. They dominate employees and make them work brutally long, exhausting, and stressful hours. Then, they steal the credit for their work. When something goes wrong, these horrible people are the first to blame their subordinates. It creates a toxic ambiance where employees get hostile feelings. It was an awful mess when I was blamed for something I didn't even do.
