Pros
-It's an international school so you get a decent amount of time off in winter and summer, with national holidays thrown in. -The healthcare is great. -The campus has a nice bird life.
Cons
-The company can break the contract and not suffer any consequences (e.g. they can change the terms) -SLT never seem to be on the side of teachers. They are constantly offloading more and more work for teachers to do -There are no processes that are documented and that teachers have access to. It feels like you're reinventing the wheel every time something has to be done. -The salary and benefits are lower than many of the other "top" schools in Dubai, despite having some of the highest fees. -The school as a whole has a culture of reactionary policy rather than preventative. -The HR department is a nightmare and anything you need to be done through them requires about 10 meetings and you'll still never get what you need. -There is no behavioural policy in place that helps classroom teachers deal with some of the more challenging children. In fact, teachers are often told to deal with problems within their department rather than give behaviour slips just so management doesn't have to deal with it. -Work/life balance is completely off-kilter. Be expected to work long hours and not even be acknowledged for that, let alone paid. -Accommodation is subpar and in a part of the city that's far from everything else.
