Small but growing company, yet large vision and industry impact - Engineering Manager Relative Dynamics Employee Review

Pros

The smaller size of the company enables a flattened management hierarchy when it comes to communication. Employees are able and encouraged to communicate to the highest levels of leadership. The CEO is a knock on the door, a Teams chat, or a phone call away. Employees are able to wear multiple hats, if they want to. Personal development is encouraged and even funded by the company. Remote/hybrid/flex work arrangements were supported here even before the industry came around to it. Compensation and benefits packages are very competitive with larger companies despite the size. Because of the size, there is a lot of freedom to follow your passions and help impact the future of this company.

Cons

The company's growth, while a good thing, has caused some growing pains, namely in the way that administrative systems are able to be configured, such as time tracking, customer invoicing, etc. But the leadership is well aware of these and are actively working to improve them. The day in day out jobs of most employees are completely unaffected.

Pros

This felt like such a con to me but in reality, the way the company urges their employees to take time for themselves, encourages that work life balance is something not all companies do these days. I mean, at first I was the one that was constantly trying to hoard my PTO but they made it pretty clear that wasn't the right or best choice. Leadership is supportive, they encourage a lot of company in person events for their local staff, and they do a lot within their benefits. The structure has changed a bit since I joined but with those growing pains is a lot of improvements to the over all structure and organization of the company.

Cons

biggest con is because of the size of the company, if your contract ends, they don't have as many opportunities to hold onto employees and move them to another contract these days. That has more to do with the current climate than RD itself but taking that into account, it does add a challenge for them.

Pros

Passionate leadership that provide numerous opportunities for employee growth and well-being.

Cons

During a tough contract market, leadership can often promise more than they can deliver.
