Stay away from this company! The MT have absolutely no clue what they are doing and the staff are afraid to speak up. They're reason for existence is the simple fact they have the monopoly on their market, a real estate broker app. The client base (~25k, 12k active, 8/5) is so small the competition is not interested and never will be. Despite the one app being developed here there are 50+ employees, mostly management and loads of inexperienced product owners since even the service desk is using agile (..), symptomatic for IT based companies being run by bookkeepers. Effectively this company could be successful with a quarter of the current head count (..). Mgmt keeps repeating it's a flat organization while in real life it's THE most hierarchical orgs I have ever seen from the inside. The MT doesn't trust their own staff, WFH not allowed. People calling in sick get checked within hours to see if you aren't faking it. Support staff will work standby shifts without getting paid which has been going on for years. Senior (tech) staff positions were quietly killed since criticism is not appreciated. Protesters will get canned immediately followed by a letter from their company lawyer intimidating you while refusing blatantly to pay the salary they owe you according to labor laws. Counting on scaring you off since you need to take them to court I did just that resulting in them losing the case. I successfully sued again after they did not comply to the court rulings (..), leaving me with double the amount which the originally had to pay if they kept their end of the contract (thanks for the sabbatical and two years on top of my early retirement dude). The pay is lousy and at half the market value., especially for tech. Also, there's nothing to learn here. Their (promoted) hackathons are everything but that but no more than PR for the outside world. It's nothing more than doing other work which had to be done years ago. Also, the building is 'modern design' meaning you're in a green house without window shades or a/c. When temperatures rise to around 30 C you will be send home but expected to make up for these lost hours out of your own time (..). Needless to say that the work atmosphere is screwed beyond salvation. DO NOT apply for a job at this place. Located in Amsterdam NL there's an infinite number of IT employers which WILL pay you for your degrees, talents and ethics and where you can learn and grow in your career. Not to mention working A/C's.
