Pros

Excellent range of collaboration tools; a people-first culture; a leadership team that listens and embeds employee feedback; superb employee engagement programme; a generous range of additional projects to work on to unite employees across teams and with volunteers and beneficiaries.

Cons

Not a con as such but I hope to see Re-engage operating at a supranational level, perhaps working with the United Nations or World Health Organisation on the globally-relevant topic of loneliness and social isolation. I hope to see influential results from Re-engage's research programme, led by an innovative team, in the future.

Pros

Working at Re-engage has been a rollercoaster experience, with both positive and negative aspects that are important to highlight. While the front line staff deserves commendation for their dedication to the elderly community, the toxic leadership within senior management tarnishes the overall work environment. The frontline staff at Re-engage exemplifies professionalism, empathy, and a genuine commitment to the charity's mission. Their unwavering support for the elderly and tireless efforts to improve their quality of life are truly inspiring. The compassion and care demonstrated by these individuals should be commended.

Title: Mixed Bag at Re-engage: Toxic Leadership Shadows a Dedicated Frontline Team Rating: ★★☆☆☆ Review: Working at Re-engage has been a rollercoaster experience, with both positive and negative aspects that are important to highlight. However, behind the scenes, the toxic leadership within senior management casts a dark cloud over the organization. The senior management's refusal to adhere to any structured processes creates chaos and confusion. Important decisions are made on a whim, disregarding the concerns and opinions of employees who possess valuable insights. One of the most concerning aspects of the toxic leadership is their tendency to undermine employees' concerns. Instead of fostering an environment that encourages open dialogue and feedback, senior management dismisses any dissenting opinions as irrelevant. This not only stifles innovation but also creates a sense of fear among employees, inhibiting their willingness to speak up and contribute constructively. Furthermore, the company's lack of psychological safety is disheartening. Employees constantly feel on edge, fearing retribution if they express differing views or challenge the status quo. The absence of a supportive and inclusive culture hampers collaboration and hinders the organization's ability to adapt and improve. Regrettably, the toxic leadership has led to a high turnover rate at Re-engage. Talented individuals who could have made significant contributions to the charity are driven away by the hostile work environment. The constant turnover not only disrupts team dynamics but also hampers the continuity and effectiveness of initiatives aimed at helping the elderly. Re-engage is a charity with a noble mission, but its toxic leadership prevents the organisation from reaching its full potential. The exceptional frontline staff is the backbone of the organisation, tirelessly working to make a positive impact on the lives of the elderly. However, without addressing the toxic leadership and fostering a culture of respect, open communication, and psychological safety, Re-engage will struggle to attract and retain talented individuals who can help the charity thrive.
