Pros

Many people here do seem to genuinely care about Rave’s mission and helping others. There’s just a major disconnect between that belief and what they put employees through (see below).

Cons

Rave really doesn’t practice what it preaches when it comes to their own employees. Even though the product is all about safety and wellness, I can think of multiple times the company did the exact opposite. Things like cramming staff into a cubicle farm well beyond what was comfortable or safe, or not letting people leave early for snow because managers couldn’t understand that unlike them, not everyone has an expensive, winter-ready SUV and a five minute commute home. On a similar note, they chose to offer terrible health insurance (United Health and United Behavioral Health), even though Rave products were being sold as a solution to improve mental health awareness. Considering this behavioral health insurance company has numerous class action lawsuits from multiple states, Rave had to be aware that it was choosing insufficient care for employees that directly contradicts their values. Management literally used every excuse possible to avoid giving any kind of raise. One time even waiting until the very end of a performance review to share that raises and bonuses were on hold. It doesn’t matter how many things you’ve done right or how hard you’ve worked, they’ll do anything they can to avoid giving you any recognition. The overall atmosphere was very condescending and employees were treated like children. Sure, it’s fun to have pizza Friday or a Halloween party, but they always felt like Band-Aids to avoid dealing with much larger issues: bad pay, bad benefits, and little consideration or accommodation for employee needs.
