Great work life balance and environment .

Equipment not as up to date but they are working on it

Better staffing and ratios compared to other hospitals. Our nurse manager is helpful and will stand up for his staff.

Risk of getting assaulted is higher due to the more acute population. Security is not stationed on the floor and is instead pulled from the emergency room during emergencies. Occasional cases of inappropriate admissions to the unit for patients with no psychiatric emergency that justifies inpatient hospitalization, or come with medical conditions that might not be appropriate to our floor which has limited resources to manage them.
