Pros
Good, solid and sincere leadership.
Cons
Boundless Immigration - They will destroy the Rapidvisa's Legacy
Pros
As a company, we bring loved ones together from all over the world. A life in the USA is a dream for the people who seek our service, I find pride in assisting with that process. Prices are competitive enough that anyone could afford the service. Our pursuit and mission objective is genuine. It's the first time in my career that I can really say that about the company I work for. Great office environment. Diverse multicultural work environment, bilingual is the norm. Individuals come from different background. There is ample space for employees, conduct is amicable, respectful environment that’s understanding, nonjudgmental, without drama, open communication, good vibes, good snacks, good equipment, etc. Direct open door contact with the founder and owner of RapidVisa. Owner is active, participates, contributes, and works for the company. Even after finding his success. It has not been left as a cash cow. Everyone contributes, for that matter. There is nothing worse than working hard at the workplace while someone is watching YouTube all day and getting paid more than you(yes I have experienced this at another company). You will not find that here, core work ethic is strong. There are individuals who show up to work early and leave late, every single day of the week on their own accord. Employees are considered as growing assets, with personal lives and families. People here are not seen as a throwaway liability. Conscious awareness of individuals being real humans outside of the workplace is great. Project time frames are reasonable, open communication is available to revisit project scope, feedback, modification, testing, etc. Company focuses on executing tasks correctly with a high degree of accuracy and quality. Input, objection, and thinking outside the box is encouraged to achieve better results. The business owner is willing to invest in his business, equipment and employees. Potential opportunities for business travel. Potential opportunities for paid job training, skill acquisition, speciality training, etc. Ample opportunities to make a large impact on business practice and revenue. Evolving work practice keeps things fresh and interesting.
Cons
We are still working to implement important benefits. 401k comes to mind. Working as the only software developer on location can be challenging. There are limited opportunities to collaborate and work real time with other individuals in a inherently team driven occupation. Such instances are only available during visit to remote location(and are highly valued). Because the development team is so recently established, we code with limited representation. Software challenges can be misunderstood by peers despite genuine programming efforts aimed at implementing working software solutions that are stable and future capable on our current technology stack.
Pros
The elephant in the room is the services we're selling. I sleep well at night knowing that the work we do actually improves lives. It is fun, satisfying work that the customers appreciate. The company is small enough to make agile adjustments and not get swallowed up in corporatism or red tape. Rarely, if ever, is there any drama between employees. Everyone seems to respect each other and get along professionally. It's a great group of people. The owners are open to new proposals, experiments and constructive feedback. No micromanaging, as we all rely on and respect each others' abilities and contributions. Everyone is given an opportunity to perform. The few times I've seen people fired it was well-warranted and after many chances to turn it around. Nobody is walking around with fear of being fired by a tyrant. As the company has grown, our benefits and the overall stability also have grown. The company is still small enough to have a good amount of influence within it, although it has experienced fast, consistent growth. I started when there were about 15 employees here and now there are well over 50 - It's been quite an experience being a part of and watching that growth. Benefits include paid holidays, vacation time, health insurance, company parties, occasional trips to conferences & events. Owners are genuine people, not trying to always get one over on the employees like many others. They're willing to pay a little more to get things done right, and buy quality gear, and invest a significant amount into development and marketing.
Cons
The fact we're spread across multiple global offices make collaboration a bit of a challenge. There are a few benefits we still don't have yet like a 401k match, but I'm sure we will in the future as we continue to grow. No flexible hours or schedule. Work/life balance isn't paramount.
