Pros
As a company, we bring loved ones together from all over the world. A life in the USA is a dream for the people who seek our service, I find pride in assisting with that process. Prices are competitive enough that anyone could afford the service. Our pursuit and mission objective is genuine. It's the first time in my career that I can really say that about the company I work for.
Great office environment. Diverse multicultural work environment, bilingual is the norm. Individuals come from different background. There is ample space for employees, conduct is amicable, respectful environment that’s understanding, nonjudgmental, without drama, open communication, good vibes, good snacks, good equipment, etc.
Direct open door contact with the founder and owner of RapidVisa.
Owner is active, participates, contributes, and works for the company. Even after finding his success. It has not been left as a cash cow. Everyone contributes, for that matter. There is nothing worse than working hard at the workplace while someone is watching YouTube all day and getting paid more than you(yes I have experienced this at another company). You will not find that here, core work ethic is strong. There are individuals who show up to work early and leave late, every single day of the week on their own accord.
Employees are considered as growing assets, with personal lives and families. People here are not seen as a throwaway liability. Conscious awareness of individuals being real humans outside of the workplace is great.
Project time frames are reasonable, open communication is available to revisit project scope, feedback, modification, testing, etc. Company focuses on executing tasks correctly with a high degree of accuracy and quality. Input, objection, and thinking outside the box is encouraged to achieve better results.
The business owner is willing to invest in his business, equipment and employees.
Potential opportunities for business travel.
Potential opportunities for paid job training, skill acquisition, speciality training, etc.
Ample opportunities to make a large impact on business practice and revenue.
Evolving work practice keeps things fresh and interesting.
Cons
We are still working to implement important benefits. 401k comes to mind.
Working as the only software developer on location can be challenging. There are limited opportunities to collaborate and work real time with other individuals in a inherently team driven occupation. Such instances are only available during visit to remote location(and are highly valued).
Because the development team is so recently established, we code with limited representation. Software challenges can be misunderstood by peers despite genuine programming efforts aimed at implementing working software solutions that are stable and future capable on our current technology stack.
