Pros
-housing/food provided at small cost. you eat the same meals (with very few exceptions) the guests do and are asked to sit with the guests for lunch/dinner. This prevents snootiness from guests as there isn't a guest/servant dynamic. Guests love getting to know staff and it's a phenomenal way to network with people from all over the world! Housing facilities are shared cabins and a few bunk style rooms. Max 4 people per room. -access to all guest facilities -free laundry -staff horseback rides whenever possible and staff can join guest rides on their day off -the best horses in the world! -the owners treat you like family (so don't be naughty!!) -beautiful colorado wilderness all around you
Cons
-meals can get repetitive as the dining schedule is the same on a week to week basis...you are able to buy and keep your own food in the fridge but there is no staff kitchen to cook. -the hours are long but as a wrangler you're having fun all day long -you live/work with the same 30ish people all summer. Naturally, this results in a certain amount of drama. My advice is to hold your tongue and don't speak poorly about anyone else as no good will come from this. -ranch is about 1 hour drive to nearest town with shopping (Alamosa)
