Pros

RailPros as a company still feels “small”, but touches a wide range of railroads and rail projects. There is a nice spread of ages and experiences, including ethnic & geographic diversity. The company has a growth mindset, so, there may be interest and plans under the radar to develop new teams / projects / clients, even if it’s not currently listed. The company also honors merit and hard work, regardless of your background. So, you can move up fast in the company, even if you are young, if you are willing to put in the time and travel. The company also still allows employees to work from home many days of the week! RailPros also has several employees who work remotely, with real estate and engineering. The company is also supportive of lateral moves to other teams, and allows whoever is interested on new projects to work extra on developing that part of the business; which may eventually become its own team / leadership opportunities.

Cons

Some managers are hands-off, while others can be micromanagers; either can be a challenge, depending on your background and preferences.

Pros

Pay is decent, start out at $30hr then $35hr after 6mos.

Cons

100% travel, hotel life gets lonely and boring. Senior Managers are quick to fire. No growth opportunity in this field.
