Pros

The work and the clients we have are interesting, and especially around "peak" time (black Friday through Christmas), it gets exciting and collaborative. Pay can be good if you know how to negotiate for it.

Cons

The culture in the CTO org is difficult to deal with on a day-to-day basis. Mistakes are publicly ridiculed, management is disrespectful to all levels of employees, cutthroat competition between is systemically encouraged. Attempts to change the culture have little impact. Getting HR involved has little impact. The worst offenders are often rewarded with promotions. Very talented, valuable people have left and no effort is made to retain because they are seen as "competition." There is also a lack of diversity within the CTO org.
