Pros

Quality of Talented People Lots of Resources Supportive of Continuing Education Mature Company Great place to START your career

Cons

very VERY old workforce. If you're looking to advance in your career you better hope someone either retires or dies. Management is extremely old and seemingly works to protect each other. There is lots of young talent that walks out the door because they are tired of waiting around for promotions to never come. Who you know is much more important than what you can do. You might say that's true for all companies, but at Raytheon they seem to take it to a level of ridiculousness. Once you have certain levels of credentials or academic accomplishments it seems like no matter what you do you can't get let go. More than once I watched someone who was "above" me do inferior work that I could have done in my sleep.

Pros

I worked at Raytheon for over 4 years and had a great experience. The company provided many learning and growth opportunities. I was promoted twice during my tenure with the company, and my responsibility increased significantly. I felt like my management supported me and provided me with the career mentorship that I was seeking. I felt empowered and respected during my time there.

Cons

It can be difficult to work at such a large defense contractor company because of all the process and red tape. Things can move slowly, you have to be patient and pick your battles. That being said, if you learn how to work within the system, you can make a significant impact here!
