Pros

The building is kept clean, being able to wear comfortable scrubs to work is nice vs. dress pants and shoes.

Cons

This company has no care or concern for work-home balance, nor do they care about or respect employees who have worked for them for years and years. While working here for almost ten years, it was very apparent from the beginning that the general attitude of management is "Employees do not care about the company, nor can they be trusted. We must treat them all with suspicion, micromanage them to make sure they aren't cheating us, and stab them in the back whenever it could be beneficial to us." I've watched many employees come and go who gave their time and energy to help the company succeed, gave up weekends with their families, happily worked holidays, all because they believed in helping the work place. And these people were continuously treated like criminals. It is a very oppressive environment to try and succeed in as well. You work with the constant miasma of mistrust and suspicion lingering over you at all times. You are constantly reminded that you cannot be trusted, and that you are unworthy of kindness and consideration when you fall into need of help. It's unfortunate, and depressing for those employees who wanted to stay for a lifetime. When I was hired, I remember the CEO saying "We want this place to be a stepping stone for you, use us to get to the next place." Those words make a lot of sense when you see their turnaround rate. They do not make this company a desirable place to work long term. Leaving this company was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life, and now working for other, more successful businesses, it's even more apparent how limiting the upper managements restrictive, paranoid, and distrustful policies are to their own success. They hamper their own employees as part of their way of life, and in return, it's hampering their ability to move forward. I worked for this awful place for almost ten years, and as an optimist I was focused on seeing the good and ignoring the bad things all around me. I watched people be treated horribly, and I ignored it, thinking that it wouldn't happen to me because I gave so much, because I rarely had a complaint, because I busted myself on a daily basis. I fell for the first piece of advice I received from almost every worker at RSA that I interacted with during my first year: Don't ever, ever think you are irreplaceable. No matter who you are, or how much time you have invested, they will throw you away without a second thought when you fail to serve them without question. I should have listened to that, listened to all the times they've escorted long time employees out to the street in tears. I guess finally getting that same treatment is my karma for not standing up for others more often. Karma does that to you, and I'm sure it will happen to this company too at some point. My advice to anyone considering working for this company is this: 1.) You ARE replaceable to them. Never believe that you mean more to them than the person who cleans the toilets. This applies to EVERYONE. 2.) They are VERY good at lying to you. It's what they do. I'm sure you have seen the replies here on this very site, acting apologetic and concerned for the well being of the negative posters. This is a facade, do not fall for it. The very reason they distrust all of their employees is because they themselves are liars and thieves, and the devil you carry is the devil you see in others. 1.) Please do just as the CEO suggested many years ago: use them as a minor stepping stone and then leave. Get out as fast as you can, and run as far as you can.

We appreciate your feedback and the time and thought you obviously put into your posting. We do take comments left very seriously and read each and every one. I can guarantee that our responses are not a facade nor are we acting apologetic. We are sincerely concerned about every employee’s experience even if they no longer work for us. Since your posting is long, and well thought out, we would like to respond to the topics you address. Your comments that our company does not care or have concern for a work-home balance is simply not true. We recognize our employees are the most dedicated employees in the workforce today and do contribute an enormous amount of time and energy helping our company succeed. We appreciate the sacrifices our employees give in order to continue to grow the company. As for feeling very oppressed; individuals contribute in their own way and our goal is to try and allow all employees to feel they contribute but we have clearly failed to ensure you felt support in your work and the value you added to the organization while you worked here. Our CEO does say “we want you to use this as a stepping stone” but I believe you have taken his comments out of context. Our CEO would like everyone to stay and continue to growth within the company. Use your current position as a stepping stone to move forward and up within the organization. Many employees have come to RSA Medical with the thought that they would work for a few years, gain valuable experience and move on just to realize how much they enjoy the work we do and they take their experience and move up in the Company. This is our goal at RSA Medical but understand not all employees will have that same experience. Your comments about being lied to or being thieves are almost as offensive as your comment about meaning more than the person who cleans the toilets. We have the absolute most amazing cleaning staff at RSA Medical and they are just as valued to the organization as the CEO is. For you to suggest otherwise is plain offensive. If you leave RSA Medical because you are not happy and are able to pursue other opportunities that will make you happy and feel successful in your career, I do wish you the best and hope you are successful wherever you end up.

Pros

Comparable in compensation for the position I am in. Fast pace growing company with different programs. Being able to utilize my personality in order to help others. Clean environment. Decent paid time off. Parking garage. Really good team members to work with. This may sound cheesy but it is the MANTRA that I stumbled across online and have tried to live by each day. “I trust my ability to know what's right for me without having to doubt who I am when I get things wrong. I realize that there's always room for improvement and I commit to consistently trying to become a better person in all aspects of life. I'm no better than anybody. It's just clear that I'm not the same as everybody. And I work within my purpose every day to make that clearer. Greatness is my choice for my life therefore I make no excuses when I fall short, I only put forth more effort. I'm here for something bigger than me, and my only desire is to add value to everything that I can. Should I stumble, I will remember these words. I will remember who I am, and I will remember that my mission is more important than my mistakes.” This company has done a lot for me through the years and I am grateful for my job. It hasn’t been an easy road because of the amount of growth but I have no regrets. I have learned more at RSA than I have at any other company.

Cons

Understanding that this is a place of business that is ever growing, it would be nice to have a yearly meeting with the Executives

Thank you for the feedback and sharing your mantra. I believe most of our employees live by a similar mantra or belief just based on my daily interactions and the dedication I see. I would also agree that meeting with the Executive Team on a regular or yearly basis is a great idea. Will see what we can set up.
