Pros
Working with the kids is the singular highlight of working at RIF. If you're not sure if you like to work with kids or not, this is a definite way to find out.
Cons
Everything at RIF seems exciting and fun and well-balanced at first, but it only takes a month or two to figure out that their positive image is all an illusion. Director: She is cold and unpleasant. She does not communicate vital information with her staff and her management style is dangerously opaque. She plays favorites in an enormous way, and heavily favors men over women. She surrounds herself with meek underlings who will never question her judgment. She once stated in a meeting, "I have no plan for this organization," as if that were a good thing. Management: As mentioned above, the management is submissive to the director. They foster a culture of martyrdom and guilt amongst the other employees. They relish any positive recognition that the director occasionally throws at them like chicken bones to a pack of dogs. Culture: The office environment is divisive and damaging to the overall mission. Cliques among employees are actively sought out by some of the management and perpetuated consistently with playground politics and exclusive social groups. Think Gretchen Wieners to Regina George in Mean Girls: "You can't sit with us!"
