Pros
The best thing about REVA was the people. I had the privilege of working with lots of kind, welcoming, and deeply skilled professionals. I also got to travel all over the world which was great.
Cons
The job varies DRAMATICALLY based on which station you work out of. Fort Lauderdale, Florida has the best job. Working at FXE you will more often than not do a call then come back and go home. Sure, you will be gone for a few days here and there, but for the most part you will go home. They also get the best compression package. Schenectady, NY is harder. You will reliably be gone for the entirety of your eight day rotation. That means you leave your house day one and do not see your front door until you're done. In addition, if the NY aircraft is down for maintenance (it routinely goes down for months at a time) they will relocate you to Florida for your entire rotation every week. You will work out of the Florida base and stay in a hotel room in Fort Lauderdale when you aren't on a call. REVA will always pay for your flights (always economy) and hotel room (usually very nice). This is something to keep in mind as living out of a hotel room for more than half the time is difficult, and not for everyone. This is what made me leave. I didn't want to be a thousand miles from home alone in a hotel room for 8 out of every 15 days. There is also an Ireland crew that does 15 on 15 off and you just stay where your aircraft lands. It is also worth noting that while this job will take you all over the world, most of the time you will land, pick up a patient, and leave again. So you generally won't actually see many places except for the road between the airports and the hospital. There are exceptions where you get to spend time in interesting places, but that's the exception.
