Pros

Control your own paycheck; consistently hitting up to 1,000-1,500 a week or more (with putting in the hours) Flexible work schedule Work with great people Very minimal supervision/micromanaging Very VERY minimal office work. 99.9% of time is spent in the field I'd recommend this job to anybody, provided you have the motivation to go out on a route! My favorite quote was the following: "how do you always come in with so many boxes?!" To which another tech replied, "well, the boxes don't deliver themselves to your door!"

Cons

Using your own vehicle Less work over the winter months Bad weather inevitably leads to bad production, which turns into a low paycheck Field work--I, along with several other people, have been threatened by customers. High turnover--this is an easy job, as long as you are motivated to go out and hit your work!

Pros

The company is a collection contractor for the major cable companies in the country. They were a great company to work for and earn a great living for years. We were paid in various ways.

Cons

They are no longer a viable way to earn a full time or part time living. Over the course of the past few years. They have been making frequent changes resulting in techs pay getting lower and lower. Recent management changes has resulted in even more negative changes. New management has put a system in place that shields them from any risk and put it all on their techs. They have taking away all reachable income and left only the next to impossible way to earn income. They give you a pathetic mileage rate and expect you to knock on doors seeking past due payments. You only get paid if you collect a payment. 2 major issues with this system. 1. Many of these customers have long move before we get to the door. 2. The customers that you do reach usually have excuses to not pay or think your a scam and refuse to pay. If you knock on 100 doors. Your be lucky to get 2-3 payments because so many customers have either moved or just won't make a payment. Unless your an experienced collector and good at convincing difficult customers to pay you. Your going struggle with this and could find yourself homeless.
