Remote work option overshadowed by job insecurity and secrecy - Anonymous employee R1 RCM Employee Review

Pros

Being able to work remotely

Cons

Never knowing how long you’re gonna keep your job. And the secrecy they keep from everyone. A whole group of people just got laid off with only two weeks notice and not a good severance. Then we’re told they were not allowed to discuss it. They call it restructuring, but employees feel like it’s more outsourcing to unqualified people outside of the country.

Pros

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Cons

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
