Pros
I was on the CSOC contract. If this is your first job, you will have ample time to study, because you won't have much work to do. You will get to put experience on your resume (although you likely won't have much hands on work to do here). Some people are nice to work with.
Cons
The CSOC contract is filled with leadership that is unqualified to lead a security operations center. At the individual team level, there are qualified, good-willed, people that have the skills and capability to make things happen. However, top/senior leadership doesn't know anything about information technology, let alone cyber security, and does not listen to advice from team leads or lower level personnel. The entire CSOC contract is a sales job that is all about how things look, hence the planar screens that cover the walls of the building, and the "pew pew maps" that fill the planars. There is a constant reassurance from leadership that "work is coming", however, they have said that since day 1 of the contract, over a year ago, and still have not acquired consistent work. Quantum will not hold a Top Secret clearance for the CSOC contract, unless you are on a specific team, which leadership told prospective candidates that Quantum would hold a Top Secret for every team, a downright lie to them to attract candidates. There are too many times to count where leadership has said one thing, and did another (do as I say, not as I do). Quantum does a good sales job of the CSOC, but doesn't know how to execute any of the tasks, or even give the individual teams the resources to execute the tasks. Leadership is also extremely unethical, ranging from security violations to the lack of well being for their employees during the COVID pandemic.
