Pros

Sufficient staffing most hours of operation

Cons

Employees are paid much less than current rates in most other less expensive stores. Publix charges premium prices to customers while paying employees less than Walmart, Target, and even Aldi, among other stores. Most employees are payed well below minimum wage, and some have been working with great work ethics and dedication for them for over a decade and still don't make minimum wage. Management is spotty and shifts a lot, often leaving lower mgt positions not truly supervised. There's a pattern of the hard working underpaid long term employees taking up the slack off less capable and less caring enployees that get nearly the same pay. Many class action lawsuits against Publix for not paying fairly. A store that expects customers to pay more for their goods should pay employees better to give customers premium treatment, rather than give employees less than Walmart pay and still expect more from them.

Pros

Pay and bonus structure is competitive.

Cons

Work life balance, company has double standards for those wanting to move up. -No consistency, moving target in terms of moving up. Made to feel guilty if you have family challenges that may need your undivided attention in terms to calling out. Once your a manager, they seem to put you anywhere close to your home. One time a manager was placed 57 miles, one way from home (60 miles requires relocation package). When topic is brought up to be closer to home, the response is, "you know this was part of the perks of being a manager".
