Pros

It's a good option for people who enjoy their work-life balance and limited travel. Most of the people there are also friendly.

Cons

Although they like to brand their practice to also include consulting, it's really more like an internal audit firm. Often campus hires are tagged as part of the technology consulting practice, but mostly were staffed on internal audit/SOX projects; mostly because there's not always enough consulting projects to go around. I'll give them credit for trying to expand their practice by adding true consulting lines of service, however they don't seem to have the background and experience to execute those types of projects. Many times they have a "we'll figure it out when we get there" attitude. People are then thrown into these projects and expected to execute the work with little to no guidance, and when it fails management accepts no responsibility. Essentially there's a mismatch between what they tell clients they can execute, and the needed knowledge and resources' ability to perform these projects.

Thanks for your review. I hate to hear that we did not meet your expectations in an employer. We try to be as transparent as possible during the recruiting process, talking through the type of work we do and the opportunities we have for our people. Through on campus presentations, interviews, office visits and peer discussions that cover the actual kind of work in that particular office, our goal is to openly share. We also aim to rotate our people where we can on projects so they can have varying experiences that align with their career aspirations. I am sorry that this was not your experience at Protiviti. We will reflect on your feedback and continue to look at ways we can improve. We wish you the best in the future!

Pros

Good WLB Great Bosses Health insurance & benefits are awesome Very flexible workforce Easy to climb up in promotions

Cons

Pay is below standard (Although I feel you still get paid decently for the area) If you're put on a production project, be ready to feel stuck. Management is very lost on where they want to head into the future. I am worried this company won't last much longer (Former arthur anderson) Can feel clique-y at times amongst peers (but this is not a problem of the company specifically)

Pros

Good Culture, decent pay, not overworked too much.

Cons

Repetitive, meaningless, and boring work, hard to pivot out of this career once started. Also, the consulting career feels like such a fake job at times. Doesn't feel like real work. Makes you question your life decisions. I'd recommend any college grads to think about their future career goals first before joining. I joined on a whim and wish I spent more time interviewing. It's been incredibly difficult to pivot out of internal audit and sox compliance once you are in it. However, if you are really good at corporate politics and advocating for yourself you may be able to pivot out of the IAFA solution . However, not sure how that lends it self if you want to leave the company.
