Pros

Sort of decent pay for someone right out of college.

Cons

The main issue with this company is that the product you are selling does not help businesses, and often times it does not even get distributed. At Psp you are in charge of selling print advertisements into publications that are supposed to be distributed sports games. The problem with this is that you quickly learn that the publications that your clients are spending thousands of dollars on often times do not get printed/ have a one or two game shelf life. This is because Psp has no control over the print or distribution of these publications, they simply sell ads. So, for whatever reason what often ends up happening is the team that you are selling ads for doesn't end up printing the book at all, or they just release the book at one or two games. Even if the book does get printed and has a decent shelf life (which is almost never), you are still selling thousand dollar ads into print books to small business that never see a return on the advertisement. This is made clear when you work for Psp because you will be constantly receiving complaints from clients about how they went to multiple games and they never saw the publications, or they will complain how they never got any business from the publications. For example many clients will want to put a QR code in their advertisement. Management will try to dissuade you from allowing your clients to put the QR codes in the ads because they know that If the company has the ability to track their return on the investment, there is a 0% chance that they will be a happy client. This is because there is no return on investment for what your selling and everyone in the company knows it. To further back up this point PSP refuses to give you print/ distribution numbers for any of the books that you are selling ads into. For those who don't know, now a days everyone who sells advertisements generally has some idea of the reach of the ads they sell (like how many publications are printed). PSP refuses to give you these numbers presumably because they are such bad numbers that it would hurt your ability to sell the product. All in all this is a company that is hanging on by the skin of its teeth by selling an outdated and expensive product to small businesses who don't know any better. If you sell ads for this company you will 100% realize that you and your coworkers are scamming people for a 55k a year salary. Every single employee at Psp knows this and would have no problem telling you so. Throughout my time at Psp almost every coworker of mine consistently expressed feelings of being a "scam artist". This feeling is inevitable at Psp because you and those around you are receiving non stop complaints from clients because you sold them a product that without a doubt hurt their business.

It is often said that there are lies and then there are damn lies. It is extremely unfortunate that someone would use an anonymous platform to spread an easily refutable lie about our company. We are a publisher for college and professional sports teams for their official publications under contract with those entities. What the writer of the anonymous post would have you believe is that these publications are either never produced or produced for only a game or two. This can be refuted very easily by contacting any of the teams or colleges for confirmation. There is really nothing else to say here.

Pros

Working with PSP is unique because you have firsthand access to Major league sports material. It's cool to say I work in sports publishing. I like my coworkers and those in office with me. We have good camaraderie and keep the office culture lively.

Cons

I do not feel valued by this company. This winter we had three heavy snowstorms and when I asked if I the company would be closing for safety, my boss looked at me and laughed saying "the company doesn't care about that." Turns out many of my coworkers have had to drive through blizzards and awful conditions in order to come in multiple times. Recently the company decided to give us "summer Friday's", except in order to receive the benefit of leaving at 2pm on Friday, we had to come in a half hour earlier everyday all summer to "make sure we're not losing manpower". This doesn't make me feel like you value my time or want to make sure I have a healthy work/life balance. I'm expected to bend over backward and still preform at max capacity. I feel like the company would take an chance to screw over it's employees to cut costs and I don't appreciate working under that type of management style.
