Pros

Over 10 years ago this was a good place to work. Now is a totally different story.

Cons

I worked at this place for well over a decade. When I first started there, it was a great place to work. The management values their employees. They would give us 'gifts' every now and then (jackets, blankets), the atmosphere was more relaxed and we were trusted. The employee cafe food was decent and desserts that weren't eaten from the buffet were brought down to the cafe at a really cheap price. Things were good and everyone I talked to was happy. Then things started to change as the years progressed. Management became more and more power hungry and it was becoming evident that they didn't care about the 'little people's anymore. They stopped providing employee incentives and starting cutting people down to part time so that they wouldn't have to pay them benefits. They proceeded to promote the majority of directors to vice presidents...what does this mean other than a higher job title? A higher salary. They continued promoting upper management and getting rid of the stellar employees. If you weren't a 'yes man' with a high management title, bye bye to you. I cannot even tell you how many excellent coworkers I knew were either layed off or forced to quit. This behavior continued over the years. They converted the employee cafe to a glorified gas station basically. Super high prices for items like candy and frozen foods. They try and promote a healthy lifestyle there, but how is that possible when you are only providing crap to the employees? It's hard to find another job and often the good moments like fellow coworkers made the bad not seem so apparent. When all the Covid stuff happened, many of us employees were layed off, but awaiting potential call backs. They essentially used Covid as a great reason to clean house. Many people were never called back and received letters in the mail, stating that their positions had been eliminated. No call or warning from their boss. I was called back for about 5 months. I was completely used for the upper management's benefit. I am a hard working and extremely knowledgeable employee. I had no warning when I was called down and told I was being layed off due to lack of work because of Covid. You are going to get rid of a solid employee so that you can continue to pay your upper management more and more and make sure they get their precious bonuses? (By the way, the directors and up get yearly bonuses that are about 3 times my salary). I worked the crappiest hours, weekends and holidays for this place, not being able to participate in family activities and events. I wasn't even given 30 days to find new insurance for my son and myself. I was used and thrown out like garbage. I would never recommend working here to anyone. It is an absolute disgrace how employees are being treated and thrown away like they don't and never have mattered.

Pros

Benefits, 401K match is second to none.

Cons

hours are brutal when short-staffed. Working doubles can become routine during those times. Was even called in for a third shift after only 3 hours of sleep. Otherwise, it wasn't bad.
