The benefits are great. Everyone is so friendly. Your coworkers are usually very easy to get along with. My department is really flexible with my hours so I have great work-life balance.

Some departments are short-staffed and have lower morale than others.

Great coworkers except for the occasional normal few. Overall clean and staff seem to try the best of their ability and knowledge. A discount on your insurance if you use their doctors (if those specialties exist). Pretty good matching at 3% for retirement and it's vested immediately. Usually a discount card is offered so staff can get community discounts from local retailers.

They don't pay staff well compared to inflation and cost of living. New grads with sign on bonuses are $2-3 off seasoned nurses. You pay for your own short term disability and other perks through an outside company and that typically has a wait time to use it of a year for things like pregnancy.
