Pros

Near immediate friendship with other base crew members due to trauma bonding from working in such a chaotic industry Hands on experience with various types of events Will never again complain of an 8hr shift for the remainder of your life Look at working here as a crew member as a paid workout, you will sweat & stress

Cons

Expected to work 80+hrs during busy season (0 value given to any personal time requested) and work less then 20hrs a week during slow season (difficult to sustain) Management hands out false promises of potential growth during interviews with no intention on allowing any one individual to grow unless you stay 3+yrs and are very compliant, pretty much meaning you always do as your told and never question your poor leadership You will always be on the wrong side of the fence working crew, there are 6 total departments in this company(Video&Photography/DJ’s/Decor/Floral/Corporate Level/Crew) and crew is not only responsible for helping make every other departments lives easier but in addition, are expected to continue handling all crew obligations at the same time. If ANYTHING goes wrong you will be made out to be the one in the wrong despite doing exactly what they train you to do. They treat every other department fairly well while burning out crew members since they have a system to train, imply chance of growth, burn out, then hire a new batch of workers to repeat this process, keeping those willing to sacrifice their everything for minimal reward while refusing to give those who verbalize the very obvious issues here NO MORE hours until you quit so they don’t have to pay in to unemployment. Management on the surface may seem professional but in a very short period of time you’ll come to learn that is not even slightly the case outside of technical knowledge, AWFUL leadership that’s happy to leave you out to dry during the thick of it Regularly put in dangerous situations they do not prepare you for

Pros

-Great people who worked there -One very good (young) manager -Decent AV experience but just from exposure to events and coworkers

Cons

-Everything else was bad or poorly managed -Schedules were created ad-hoc dependent on customers needs rather than over-worked employees' especially conflicting with planned big events where equipment was limited and wasnt being repaired frequently -Scheduling was based on one manager who also did gigs so there was favoritism, last minute changes/mistakes, and little regard for employee's PTO or time off reasons (refer to previous reviewer) - Gigs were understaffed and scheduled over 2-3x the normal amount of setups and strikes, with no extra morale boost or growth incentive, even with higher risk of overworked staff -Hostile work environment both physically and mentally -Stressful, stressful, stressful
