Pros
Fantastic opportunity to work with great people and gain experience in a manufacturing company with facilities abroad (Puerto Rico, France, China, India, Singapore).
Cons
If you are salaried, anticipate the possibility of working more than 40 hours per week without additional compensation and ultimately make less than co-workers who may be paid hourly. If you are paid hourly, anticipate that you may have seasons/frequent bursts of long working hours. For IT jobs, Positronic pays wages less than the local average while keeping staff count to a minimum and to be part of the 24/7 on call rotation if you are salaried. Positronic takes advantage of classifying employees as salaried exempt so that they can be overworked without compensation. Vacation time is practically 1.5 to 2 weeks per year unless you work at this company for 5+ years; holidays and plant shutdown days use your accrued Paid Time Off to make up for time not worked (and thus it can be argued that HR falsely 'advertises' 3 weeks of vacation per year). Many people who have worked at this company for a long time do it out of enjoyment (as wages are low). Sales personnel are always constantly on their toes and held to their limits; micro managed. Vacation time, wages, and staff counts kept to a minimum make professional & personal development very challenging to impossible (for some) with minimal incentives from the Company.
