- Leadership is more concerned with internal optics than the content or value of staff work, and has a "do as I say, not as I do" approach to management. Authoritarian and fear-based management styles. - Large waves of recent RIFs disproportionately affect BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people. - Turnover and frequent restructuring create constant chaos. - Leadership is not at all open to feedback from employees. - Deep conflict between departments, silo'ing between departments, and internal politics make getting the work done extremely stressful. - Microaggressions towards BIPOC and towards those with disabilities abound.
