Pros
Pros; -I worked completely remote, and went to the office once in a blue moon (Max. once a month) - "9-5" is a very loose guideline- Get your work done and be available- otherwise enjoy working remotely and a schedule that fits YOUR best interest. -Startup culture, you will more likely than not be apart of many different processes and workflows, even when the work isnt directly related to your dept or teams work. -Met a plethora of clients, sellers, industry leaders, Great networking opportunities, one even landed me my current role. -Something different nearly every day. -Standard PTO, good benefits, strangely very good company portal and access to tools all in one place (Google apps/tools).
Cons
-As easy as remote is, it is especially tough when trying to reach team members or clients for meetings or trying to ping- chasing people down is typically pretty hard. -emails will be filled with client questions, issues, and general questions about the platform and industry as a whole. -There are many team projects, however, in all honesty- day to day you will need to find your own work and fill your day accordingly- if you are the type of person to wait around for instructions or for work to come to you, you will most likely not make it at px. -Janky and strange practises and data collection, things were constantly breaking in the backend, data didnt align across platforms and tools, -Campaign monitoring and optimizing -Clients constantly want to hop on calls, always want to know why revenue is down MoM, YoY, etc etc, what they can do to improve their revenue, always asking for metrics or data they can get from us, lots of complaints about undelivery or breaking/ lagging ui. -If I am being completely honest, the clients typically dealt with are middle to upper, to even C level people. Be prepared for a lot of impatient, egotistical, "Im mean because I say the truth how it is" and "I dont care about the story just give me the result" type of people (you will also meet some of the coolest and chillest people ever as well.) -Janky and terrible DSPs and adserver platform.
