Pros
The projects are complex and international, if you show willingness to work abroad you are very likely to be assigned to a project in a foreign country. This gives you the opportunity to learn a lot and gain experience. Some of the engineers with whom the legal counsel works closely are very helpful and will gladly work with you.
Cons
Legal department is divided into "foreign projects" and "Italian projects". There is no coordination between the two areas, which on paper report to the General Counsel, but in reality are absolutely independent. The GC is involved at a high level in the management of the company, but in doing so neglects the management of the legal department. Moreover, the company is a family-owned business. This is perceived in every activity: the company's procedures and policies are outdated and even from human resources there is no perception of adequate attention to the well-being of employees.
