Pros
You technically do help businesses get running on renewable energy and I suppose you do get some experience with cold calling and sitting down with business owners. I also made some good friends at Phoenix but that's pretty much it.
Cons
Where do I even begin? This company is an absolute mess. Here are just a few things that are problematic: - They offer virtually no training whatsoever. - Management is out of touch and frankly doesn't care about solving basic problems that plague the business (even when employees repeatedly voice concerns). The company is only cares about making fast sales instead of thinking about how to build sustainably. - There is a complete lack of transparency between management and the sales team, which makes pitching new clients very difficult. It's truly embarrassing how little we knew as "energy consultants." We simply remembered certain phrases to get people to sign up. Whenever we asked management to explain our services in greater detail, they usually brushed us off and said we'd talk about it some other time. - The company uses misleading sales materials to convince customers that its pricing structure is more competitive than it really is. - I'm not being overly dramatic when I say that just about every one there hates/hated it. Not too long ago, the company was at its largest ever - I believe there were fifteen of us. Within a few months, three people were fired and another four (including myself) quit. That isn't even including the few others who quit before I got there. Apparently they also left because they thought the company was scamming people. I could go on, but let me just leave this way: Phoenix is horribly managed, dishonest with both its employees and clients, and at the end of the day just a terrible place to work.
