Pros

Decent pay and a 4 days on 3 days off schedule which I think is nice

Cons

Small ceiling for growth. Overloaded with work/you wear multiple hats. Upper management & planning are horrible and couldn't do a worse job at communicating things properly. No bonuses for the workforce from 2021 to 2026 Including management with the exception of a few discretionary bonuses to your 401K to certain employees HR here is tyrannical and you'd hear that from employees at all levels and titles, union or otherwise. Philly shipyard recently changed owners from Norwegian based Aker to Korean based Hanwha and we've by every single metric have regressed as a shipyard. Ignore the dog and pony show they put on for the media about how great and advanced they are. You'll be dealing with a heavy superiority complex from Hanwha management, a total disregard for employee and environmental safety because they just want to throw more bodies at every problem and push projects to be finished. We often DO NOT finish and now have massive rework to deal with like burning up all the ship paint because there was still fitting and welding work to be done "but schedules, so paint it anyway"
