Pros

Great company targeted towards being market driven, focused on end users to enrich their lives, it's employees, and via sustainability our planet and society. It;s focus on being a health and well being company provides interesting growth/profit opportunities in an area contributing to the mentioned stakeholder groups.

Cons

Sometimes being a Dutch company we take too much time to discuss, to get everybody on board before making a decision. The markets served (Healthcare, Lighting, Consumer Lifestyle) force to be very cost oriented to obtain the margins which are required to berewarded by the shareholder community, this can take away some of the conditions to function more easily/comfortably and to the best of each ability.

Pros

Philips still has good people, meaningful healthcare technology, and a strong brand name. Many employees care deeply about the customers, the products, and doing quality work.

Cons

The company culture has gone downhill. Management has become increasingly reliant on spreadsheet-driven decision making that often has little connection to real field conditions, employee workload, or customer impact. Priorities and goals change constantly, creating a desperate, reactive environment where employees are not given enough time to adjust before leadership shifts direction again. Morale suffers because teams are expected to execute against moving targets while leadership treats unrealistic planning as an execution problem.
