Pros

Working with the animals was the best. I liked the people I worked with and most of the managers were super nice. We tried to make it fun and joyful, but had to hide that so we didn't get into trouble from the executive director.

Cons

I just can't with the crazy expectations. Our managers tried to reward us and treat us nice because they knew we weren't getting paid very much money. I could barely pay rent and my bills with my paycheck. The managers are mostly nice, but the top executive is hardley ever there and doesn't set a good example at all. Alot of people are leaving because she isn't very nice and she picks on people and bullys them.

Pros

- helping animals get a second chance - the technician team is like a family and the shared love for the work itself brings you all closer - lots of hands on, in the moment learning experiences for those wanting to get their foot in the door of animal welfare

Cons

- the technician team is like a family. management is a clique that tends to only look out for each other and turn blind eyes and ears to anything brought to their attention by hourly employees that care for the animals every hour of the day - little opportunity for advancement - needs new executive management - poor training and lack of clear direction prior to criticism for not knowing information that is not communicated clearly or oftentimes at all
