Pros

I’ve been at Personal Group for 7 years and have progressed from EEE to Senior EEE, Client Experience Manager, and now Team Manager, so the career prospects are real. If you perform well and take feedback on board, promotion opportunities are there and supported. The earning potential is genuinely strong. Several people in my team, some under 25, are earning £80k+ with a company car - the pay structure rewards results. The work itself is enjoyable and varied, and the culture is genuinely social - the teams are close-knit and the regular events are fun.

Cons

It’s a performance-driven environment, so it can feel fast-paced and intense at times. As a field based role, you can expect to be away from home, staying in a hotel around 50% of the time, which can be challenging for some.

Pros

Very supportive of any personal challenges outside of work. Flexible working options are extensive. Colleagues want to help each other and band together to tackle issues outside of management interference. Big book of existing insurance policyholders funds a relatively relaxed approach to winning new business. Existing insurance products are well received by customer/policyholders

Cons

Very disconnected and old fashioned board Senior leaders don't work together and some are distant from the workforce Quite cliquey Poor product development (platform) has led to a lot of client dissatisfaction The insurance sales model is old fashioned and sometimes attracts criticisim from clients. Hugely siloed which is driven from the very top Some people love working there and others hate it - it's very marmite
