Pros
Family atmosphere; informal; very flexible and accommodating with schedules. Opportunity to learn huge range of technical skills. Senior engineer had super-human comprehension of every conceivable technology, frequently willing to give impromptu tutorial even if/when incredibly busy. Coworkers were, without exception, genuinely nice people.
Cons
For junior team members (< 2 yrs), daily stand-ups routinely involved public excoriation as supervisor itemized their shortcomings (all junior team members had significant shortcomings). Probably OK for those with extremely thick skin; otherwise, brutal. Also, senior management held very conservative political views, not afraid to share at company meetings. Probably refreshing for those with similar views; otherwise, horrifying. Tech stack is archaic; great opportunity for those seeking to build up legacy credentials; otherwise, lots of skills you will probably never use again.
