Pros

If you work in a union shop, the company pays you 15% more than the highest earning senior tech. Plus, you receive multiple bonuses depending on your district. It is very good money and I’m very pleased with my paycheck.

Cons

Dealing with the Techs and by extension the Union is the single most aggravating aspect of the position. They can get away with pretty much anything. The harder you try to enforce the rules and just basic workplace decorum i.e sleeping for over 40 minutes while clocked in, not working on the truck for over an hour etc., the more it gets turned back on you. Objectively speaking, it’s a massive headache, especially for someone who genuinely tries to work their hardest considering the compensation they are receiving. Upper management is paralyzed because of the Union and this trickles down to the supervisors.

Cons

Each branch is ran differently meaning management may excel at one location, giving you more exposure for growth. While other locations it is more difficult to work out of and earn promotions.
