      Learned a ton about marketing, high-tech companies, Hubspot, different kinds of people and time manangment

      Cons

      Working at an agency can get stressful dealing with clients and deadlines, high turnaround and tthe remote work wasn't so great for team building and morale.

      Cons

      As a small company, there can be several changes and requirements to work on quick timelines. Clients can be tough/uneducated surrounding marketing techniques and makes the work less rewarding. Compensation will be reasonable, but not high.

As an agency, our teams work with many different clients and as in all walks of life, there are challenges when trying to meet some expectations, especially working with clients who are new to digital marketing. As our values dictate we still need to manage these challenges with empathy and transparency, expertly guiding our clients through their agreed strategy. At Penguin Strategies we have a policy of annual pay reviews and this policy has been upheld and pay rises given where appropriate, also throughout the Covid years. We do award gifts to our teams for special holidays and when celebrating certain events such as National Pizza Day.       Pros

      Leadership consistently shares knowledge, best practices, and experience through 1:1 conversations, and team conversations. I have found that the owners of the company are extremely generous with their time, and are eager to share reasonings and methodology behind what they do and why from a business perspective, and always always put the clients' best interests first. I was hesitant to join the US team fearing a disconnect from leadership and teams in IL team, but this is absolutely a non-issue. Nor is the time difference. This is a wonderful, supportive place to be.
