Pros

The work coleguess are quite nice, and the remote environment within the team it is friendly. The team at this company is made up of highly competent developers. I appreciate the discernment of the recruitment team as they have managed to hire highly skilled and pleasant individuals. As far as technology goes, the company maintains a robust tech stack that is up-to-date. The base salary is good.

Cons

While the company holds some valuable assets in its team and tech stack, there is room for improvement when it comes to leadership and communication. The Engineering Manager, for example, has a tendency to hold the company's codebase very close to his chest, which can be challenging in a remote working environment. Better knowledge sharing and delegation would be beneficial. Day-to-day operations could also benefit from increased transparency and long-term planning. The objectives often seem to change on a near-daily basis, which could be better managed with a clear and communicated strategy in place. The majority of the co-workers are not remote, this leads to silos of communication and a not very good response time when you contact the workers in Canada. Documentation of requirements could also be improved upon. Much of the information necessary to fulfill tasks is often relayed in casual conversations, which can be missed or misunderstood. Instituting a system for clearly documenting these requirements would be beneficial for all. The administrative aspect of the company contrasts with the modern technical infrastructure. It relies heavily on somewhat outdated methods, like end-of-day reporting via email with Excel attachments. There are certain restrictions that may be seen as limiting, such as enforced usage of a virtual machine through AWS Workspaces without admin rights. Lastly, the company maintains a stringent tracking policy which monitors keyboard and mouse usage, something potential employees should be aware of. The intent might be to ensure productivity, but it could be seen as intrusive by some. A more trust-based approach to performance evaluation could foster a more empowering environment. No flexible time. Minimum by law days of holidays

Pros

Good hands-on experience with different tools and systems but not for a long time as you can be fired anytime even if you are performing to your fullest!

Cons

There was a recurring pattern of sudden terminations described as business decisions, followed by the same roles being reposted shortly after. This created constant uncertainty and affected team morale. Onboarding and knowledge transfer were limited. Access to key systems was centralized, yet expectations were to ramp up quickly. Without proper enablement, it was hard to perform efficiently. Performance feedback lacked structure. There were no formal reviews, documented warnings, or improvement plans before termination decisions. At times, extended hours were expected to meet shifting priorities, without clear communication about additional compensation or time off. The environment often felt unprofessional. Conversations in shared spaces were informal and sometimes included inappropriate language. HR visited periodically and spent time with leadership, but broader employee concerns around stability and workplace culture did not seem to be actively addressed. Even basic workplace concerns remained unresolved. The IT room was consistently very cold despite repeated requests, and many of us had to wear jackets while working. Frequent hiring for identical roles suggested ongoing turnover, which impacted continuity, knowledge retention, and overall team cohesion.
