Not much concern for work/life balance - Production Manager Paradigm Window Solutions Employee Review

Pros

Short commute to Portland if you live in the surrounding area.

Cons

They don't know what the production schedule is going to be day to day, so the work schedule is very volatile. You may be asked to leave work 30 minutes after you arrive or you may be told you have to stay until 8 or 9 PM. If they have a good sales day, expect to stay until the work is done, if they don't expect to be told they don't need you to come in at all.

Pros

None. They have good benefits after 60 days of employment, but by then you are already looking for another job.

Cons

Very disorganized. Unsafe—accidents happen daily, get used to cuts all over your hands and other parts of your body. They will tell you in the interview that overtime is mandatory on Fridays and voluntary on Saturdays. However, if you don’t work on Saturday, they give you guilt trips and act like you’re not a team player. There is no work/life balance. If you get a holiday off, prepare to be expected to have only one day off the next weekend because they will want you to work on Saturday and will be angry if you don’t. Don’t make plans EVER. Because unless you are a favored employee who is given Fridays off or is allowed to leave early, you have no idea when they will let you go home on Fridays. Employees who have been there for a long time are really nasty to newcomers. I was sworn at, shoved and undermined and the supervisor didn’t care. Supervisor is never around anyway and won’t listen to you. Especially if you don’t work on Saturdays. Raises are based on what jobs you can do, not on your performance in the position your in. So even if you are amazing at your job, unless you can pretty much do everybody else’s job too, you will not be compensated. Everyone at this place is miserable. They constantly complain, gossip about each other, and throw people under the bus. Nobody is your friend here.
