Pros

We helped universities, gov agencies, healthcare systems, and corporations build very effective, interactive websites. The customer community is pretty active and the professional services and account management teams take 'customer care' seriously. Good people

Cons

Niche product built on Coldfusion. Being a small company, resources and funding were sometimes a challenge. Same for product development - development cycles were often longer than desired.

Pros

Co-workers were all great people who were fun to work with and very talented and supported each other in the horrible work environment. The CommonSpot product had a lot of potential had the company not been so poorly managed.

Cons

The owner of the company is in a constant state of barely contained seething rage and actively seeks out any employee on which he can unleash. Not a difficult boss situation but way beyond that to actually downright abusive. No career advancement opportunities. No pay raises. Benefits change to different medical insurance provider annually depending on who is cheaper and coverage expensive and not great. Pay well below industry standards. Nobody is doing sales or marketing (everyone left) and business suffers which fuels the hostile environment.
