Pros
Classroom management is easy. Students are generally well-behaved and motivated. Colleagues are supportive and very competent. A collaborative environment is encouraged. In general, the community is supportive and positive.
Cons
You might report to three separate people. It's sometimes confusing as to whom you should report to for what. Management is conflict avoidant and almost always sides with parents to the detriment of the teacher. There are also way too many responsibilities. You're a teacher with 4-5 courses and you're an adviser. You're also required to do lunch duty once every 7 days and to sub 4 times a semester for colleagues. It's a meeting heavy culture as well. The time you think you'd have to do the actual work like lesson plan and grade, you spend in long winded meetings that yield few tangible results.
