Pros
Some great training available, track record of investing in people. A great place to learn and develop. They tend to promote from within and there are good opportunities for movement (though see Cons). *Almost* agile environment and becoming a tech giant in Ireland. It is one of the best brands in its industry. Relaxed atmosphere, mostly relaxed and friendly work colleagues. Office in nice area of Dublin (traffic not so great but they can't be blamed for that - they provide loads of parking)
Cons
If you're the type of person that needs recognition or to feel appreciated for your work forget it. You're unlikely to get so much as a grunt of thanks from senior managers and little in the way of encouragement. If you have any qualms about working in the gambling industry forget it. I spoke to many people who had a problem with gambling and didn't feel good about working for Paddy Power. If you're thinking about it, thinking carefully. While it’s very good they hire from within, cronyism is a problem the higher up you go. For that reason, it doesn’t attract (or won’t hire) external leadership with fresh perspectives. The industry seems to be a bit of a closed shop. I got invited to a lot of pointless meetings that should have been just an email. My advice would be to show a healthy disregard to invites, regardless of who sends them.
